Security MicroImaging
What's in a Name?

Security—The confidentiality and safety of your company’s content is our #1 priority. Security MicroImaging takes great measures to safeguard your content, no matter what form or location it may be. Our corporate office has a 3-tiered security system. Security Guards patrol the grounds 24/7, external cameras are located by each and every entranceway, and access into our offices is only allowed by employee swipe cards or permissive entrance. Guests are required to sign in and out. All service bureau staff are selectively appointed and then monitored during project work. In addition, deliveries are expedited in unmarked vehicles to ensure optimal safety of your documents and content.

Micro—Security MicroImaging originated in 1969 as a company that offered its clients the best method, at the time, to store and retrieve documents - microfilm. In those days, the days before computers became mainstreamed, the company was well known as Security Microfilm. Technology evolved, as did the company name, but the owners wanted to retain some name recognition with its vast client base.

”Micro” can, at times, be defined as small, but that is simply not the case here. With 700+ successfully integrated ECM solutions, a 13,000 square foot facility, and a staff that has cumulatively completed over 70 ECM-related certifications, Security MicroImaging could hardly be considered small.

Imaging—According to Merriam-Webster, imaging is defined as an action “to create a representation of” or “to form an image of”. According to AIIM, the ECM Association, Document Imaging is defined as, “the process of capturing, storing, and retrieving documents regardless of original format, using micrographics and/or electronic imaging (scanning, OCR, ICR, etc.). Although microfilm remains an important segment of Security MicroImaging, it is truly the electronic imaging that best defines our current strategies.
