Advanced Capture, Intelligent Capture
The Technology is Very Smart
But Do YOU Have What It Takes?

Let’s start out by simply discussing the concept of “advanced”, using advanced chemistry as an example. After barely passing Chemistry 101, just the thought of taking an advanced level course on the same topic makes me cringe! And yet, I’m so thankful that advanced chemistry exists and I’m even more appreciative that others are willing and enthusiastically eager to master it.

My appreciation for advanced chemistry grows every spring when my children celebrate the season with a reaction to Poison Ivy. I’m glad that someone has figured out a way to resolve my family’s Poison Ivy problem through advanced chemistry. I’m also thankful that I have the knowledge about my options to treat it. So, as far as advanced chemistry is concerned, I certainly do NOT have what it takes to learn it but I certainly do have what it takes to benefit from it and I also have what it takes to understand the solutions it can provide, specific to my needs.

Capture 101 — Start with the Basics

Capture should be in each and every businessperson’s vocabulary and methodology these days. Capture, simplistically defined, is the process of getting information from a source and placing it into an ECM environment or system so it can be managed. This often includes converting paper documents into a digital form. Everyone that has paper documents or computer files has what it takes to benefit from capture.

Advanced Capture / Intelligent Capture — Graduate to the Good Stuff

The difference between basic and advanced capture is significant in applications, capabilities, and results. All advanced/intelligent capture starts with a foundation of basic components that often includes capture software and a scanner. From there, the offerings extend with respect to the unique demands of specific industries, businesses, and more importantly - the department it’s serving. Advanced/intelligent capture can be purchased and installed concurrent with basic capture or later as an organization’s requirements evolve.

So, Do You Have What It Takes for Advanced Capture?
Ask Yourself These Questions:

Would it be useful to:
- Dramatically reduce the amount of labor involved in manual keying information while reducing the opportunity for human error?

- Add capture capability, from any device, at any location where paper or electronic documents enter your organization?

- Add comprehensive document classification and data extraction capabilities thus automating document processing functions previously done manually to cut costs and speed-up the flow of information?

- Extract the appropriate information from varied content sources and deliver it to your organization’s existing ERP, CRM, and line of business systems?

- Automate the straight-through-processing of data and business decisions based on new information as it is captured?

- Provide advanced, customizable classification, separation, and extraction capabilities for high-volume document and forms processing operations?

- Capture images from third-party applications?

- Use fill-and-print forms to create 2D barcodes which can scan and decode, then utilize it like any other form of imported data?

- Automate your entire accounts payable operations, turning piles of invoices into actionable digital data?

- Enable seamless connection to popular software applications from companies such as Hyland, FileNet, IBM, Hummingbird, Oracle and Documentum?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, advanced/intelligent capture could deliver enhanced efficiencies and accuracy to your daily business processes and indeed, you have what it takes for advanced/intelligent capture!
